The conference will begin on Monday, August 18, 2008 at the Blue and Marble Halls of the
Chernivtsi State University (former Residenz) by the festive opening and reception in the presence of the governor of Bukovyna and the mayor of Chernivtsi

The keynote event will feature Professor Joshua (Shikl) Fishman. Professor Fishman will present a talk entitled "The 100-th Anniversary of the Czernowitz Language Conference. To What it Obliges Us" which will follow by the Oath of 2008 in Honor and in Memory of Czernowitz 1908
